Everest base camp trekking is certainly a fabulous adventure of once in a lifetime to experience. As well to test your physical ability by walking on high-altitude terrain enclosed by towering giant snow-capped peaks.

A sweeping short panoramic flight brings you to Lukla, a town with a unique airstrip. Lukla is the start and endpoint of most trekking and various adventures around the high Khumbu region. Due to its small airport called Tenzing & Hillary, the walk begins following the Dudh Kosi River valley and gorge.

A pleasant walk through several interesting villages on the first section of the adventure before Namche Bazaar. A long and scenic climb brings you to the famous Namche Bazaar, on leaving the river way down below.

An exciting place and the hub of Khumbu Sherpa and for trekkers, where various facilities are available in this lovely village. As well as the perfect height for a rest day to support acclimatization before heading to higher terrain and Everest base camp.

From Namche on the main trail to our destination heading on a scenic path facing glorious views of Everest. Includes an array of towering peaks with a climb to the picturesque spot at Tengboche and the famous majestic monastery.

A beautiful place surrounded by high peaks with Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, Tharmasarku, and Kwangde. Enjoy the panorama of the gigantic mountain range amidst lovely forest surroundings, with time to visit the impressive monastery interior.

Walk from Tengboche leads on the windswept country as walk follows on gradual uphill to Dingboche, on leaving Pangboche village. Dingboche is located on a scenic Imjatse valley beneath the staggering North Face of Ama Dablam with views of Island Peak. Spending an extra day in this lovely valley, finally, the adventure leads towards mountain wilderness.

Then reaching Mt. Everest base camp, within remorseless fields of ice and glaciers and close to massif Khumbu Ice-Fall.

Enjoy the fruit of success after a long hard day walks, enclosed by gigantic mountains. The adventure continues to complete the final highlight of the journey to the top of Kalapathar rocky hill. The highest point of the trek rewards an alluring panorama of the world's tallest peaks facing Mt. Everest at the closest distance.

After achieving all the major highlights of the adventure, return journey downhill to Namche and back to Lukla. For the last overnight stop around the high Khumbu and Everest region, the next morning a short scenic flight brings you to Kathmandu.

Things to know on Mount Everest Base Camp Trek:

Trekkers might be unaware that Mt. Lhotse, the world's 4th highest peaks share the same base camp as Mt. Everest.

Mt. Everest at present in last few years is officially a little higher than before. The new agreed height of Mt. Everest is 8,848.86 meters / 29,031.69 feet, which was announced at a virtual ceremony by both countries Nepal and China.

Likewise, the actual height of Kalapathar Hill and view top is 5,643 m / 18,514 feet high, as there are two tops the lower and higher. The lower top of Kalapathar is at 5,545 m. high, the main top is slightly higher both ridges offers the grand views of Mt. Everest.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: From Kathmandu fly to Lukla 2, 820 m, trek to Phakding 2,645 m- 04 hrs.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11, 350 feet - 06 hrs.

Day 04: At Namche for acclimatization and a short scenic hike.

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche 4,340 m - 05 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla - 06 hours.

Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 15: Depart for International Departure.

Please Note:

The flight to Lukla and back to Kathmandu, where flight can be delayed or might get postponed for next morning. Due to unfavorable weather conditions around mountainous region of Himalayas, can happen sometimes even in best time of the season. If the situation arise please bear with us, the company will try its best within our limit and control.

    Best Seasons:

    Mount Everest base camp trekking can be visited all seasons of the year-round, except the monsoon wet times. The best seasons are in spring and autumn/fall, where days are crystal clear for views and pleasant walks.

    The spring times begin from March till May, the high seasons for trekking to Everest base camp and around the Himalayas.

    Most days are clear fine and bright with sunshine, which can get overcast in the late afternoon. Chances of snowfall sometimes on higher terrain, cold in the morning late afternoon, and nighttime. The mid-hills are lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendron of various species from trees to a bush.

    The next best time is in autumn/fall, one of the peak seasons. For trekking around the Himalayas and to Everest base camp, where days are mostly crystal clear for

    views and scenic walks. However, the days are shorter due to fewer sun-light hours, much colder morning and late afternoon till night time.

    Chances of snowfall sometimes during the walk around higher areas above 3,000 m high, but with a bright starry night sky.

    Religion, Culture of Everest, and high Khumbu:

    The Sherpa of Everest around high Khumbu follows Tibetan Buddhism known as Mahayana or Greater Wheel. Established by great Guru Rinpoche Padamasamba in the 7th Century, reforming Buddhism which was near to extinct.

    The culture, tradition, and heritage are similar to its Tibetan predecessors, the Sherpa migrated from the Eastern part of Tibet. More than 500 years of history, and the word Sherpa means Sher for East and Pa for people.

    Interesting villages of Sherpa to explore and to observe the immense impressive cultures of age-old heritage. The name for Everest in the native Sherpa language is Chomolungma of Tibetan origin, which Nepali calls Sagarmatha.

    In both languages means a ‘Great Mother’, and most villages are adorned with religious flags and monuments of prayer walls.

    Every village houses impressive monasteries and shrines, which you will have time to explore and observe.

    Sherpa celebrates New Year called Losar, which falls at the end of February or the beginning of March. According to the Tibetan Buddhist Lunar calendar, based on animals and birds, the year 2022 is a year of a Tiger.

    The other main festival celebrated around high Khumbu is Mani-Rimdu, which takes place en route to Everest base camp. At Tengboche monastery, the event takes place at end of October or the first week of November.


Detail Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival in Kathmandu at Nepal international airport, received by our staff and guide for short drive to your hotel. Located amidst the main city, check into your rooms and join in for trek briefing with other members of the trip. Our guide provides information about the trekking trails, local lodge, and culture and so on. Evening group dinner an introduction to Nepalese meals and traditions.
Day 2:

From Kathmandu fly to Lukla 2, 820 m, trek to Phakding 2,645 m- 04 hrs.

Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport, as per the flight time for Lukla after checking in. Board in a small aircraft for an exciting flight of 35 minutes to land at Lukla Tenzing & Hillary Airport. During air, enjoy a panorama of Himalayan peaks with Mt. Everest. From Lukla walk stars heading down to Dudh Koshi River following a gradual winding path to Phakding village for an overnight stop.

Day 3:

Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11, 350 feet - 06 hrs.

From Phakding, after breakfast walk on a gentle path with few ups and down crossing a long bridge to Monjo. A short walk to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, and then reach Jorsalle village for a lunch stop. After a good lunch, walk on the river bed for an hour and then the climb leads to a bridge. The uphill continues till Namche Bazaar is reached for an overnight halt in the comfort of nice hotels/lodges. Enjoy views of Kwangde peaks at a near distance with a panorama of Namche Bazaar.

Day 4:

At Namche for acclimatization and a short scenic hike.

A perfect place and the right altitude for a rest day to support acclimatization. At Namche various places for a short hike, the nearest is up to the Park Headquarter, a scenic view-point. Overlooking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and majestic Ama Dablam with adjoining peaks, visit the museum of great interest. Energetic people can hike up to Everest View Hotel, a few hours climb reach you at Everest View Hotel. The first luxurious hotels around Khumbu, which was built in the mid-1970’s at 3,880 m high. Afternoon relaxes and walks the streets of Namche Bazaar lined with restaurants, shops, and stores with large hotels and resorts. At Namche once a week a Saturday market is held, and hence the name Bazaar is tagged with Namche.

Day 5:

Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.

After a pleasant rest day at Namche, the adventure continues heading higher walking on a scenic wide trail, and down to Phungi-Tenga. A small settlement with few shops and restaurants amidst a forest, an ideal lunch stop en route to Tengboche. Having lunch afternoon few hours climb into the cool shade of rhododendron and pine forest to Tengboche. A beautiful spot with an impressive colorful monastery surrounded by lovely woods and Snow Mountains. On checking into a nice lodge, with time to visit the monastery interior of great religious and cultural interest. Enjoy the panorama of high snow peaks with Mt. Everest and magnificent-looking Mt. Ama Dablam

Day 6:

Trek to Dingboche 4,340 m - 05 hrs.

Marvel the glorious morning views of snow-capped peaks, and then walk continues heading downhill to a river. After crossing over a steel bridge, leaving the tall tree behind for small alpine shrubs and juniper bush. A slow climb to Pangboche, the last permanent village on route Everest base camp, enjoy a refreshing break. From Pangboche a short climb to Somare for a lunch stop, and then the adventure continues on a gradual up. As altitude gains on open exposed windy terrain then reaching Dingboche for two overnights stop. Dingboche is located on a scenic Imjatse valley, beneath the towering North Face of Ama Dablam and close to Lhotse peaks. Includes views of Island Peak, a famous and popular trekking peak of Nepal Himalayas. At Dingboche check into a nice lovely lodge with time for rest and to marvel at the beautiful surroundings

Day 7:

Rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization and a short excursion.

Another pleasant rest day at Dingboche for a short acclimatization hike up to Nakarjung ridge top for a spectacular mountain panorama. Enjoy views of Lhotse, Lhotse Shar with Nuptse as far towards Mt. Makalu in the east with towering Island Peak. Rest of the afternoon at leisure and enjoy the fascinating surrounding scenery.

Day 8:

Trek to Lobuche 4,960 m - 05 hrs.

Adventure gets closer to our destination, morning leads to a short climb up on a ridge. Enjoy the morning glorious views of Imjatse valley encircled by snow peaks, as the walk follows a pleasant uphill to Thugla. A small spot with few tea-houses, where Pheriche and Dingboche trail joins towards Lobuche and Everest base camp. At Thugla the massive Khumbu glacier melts into a torrential river, afternoon a short steep climb to Thugla ridge. On reaching the top the walk gets better with a slow uphill walk to Lobuche, located on a corner. Lobuche with many good lodges for overnight halt facing grand views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.

Day 9:

Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m -07 hours, return to Gorakshep.

The morning after having early breakfast, then usual time to cover a long distance to Everest base camp our main highlight. Starts on a flat level path for short while, and then climbs above Khumbu glacier and moraine. As the walk continues reaching a flat glacial sandy field at Gorakshep, a place with few lodges. Located at the bottom of Kalapathar hill and Mt. Pumori, Gorakshep was an early Everest base camp before the 1970’s. After a refreshing break, continue walking heading east towards our main goal, then finally reach Everest base camp. An exciting spot beneath the world's highest Mt. Everest, the view of Everest is obstructed by towering Lhotse and Nuptse peaks. Enjoy the dramatic scenery of arctic landscapes, covered by remorseless fields of ice and glaciers. Stand close to massif Khumbu Ice-Fall, during the Mountaineering Expedition season of April and May. The base camp will be flooded with climbers full of tents from various nations’ expeditions’ camps. After a breathtaking experience return to Gorakshep for an overnight halt.

Day 10:

Climb Kalapathar 5,643 m / 18,514 ft. Trek to Pangboche 3, 900 m

Wake up early before breakfast, for a tough strenuous climb of a few hours to the top of Kalapathar Hill. The highest point of the adventure rewards a spectacular panorama of surrounding giant peaks with the closest views of Mt. Everest. After achieving all our major goals and highlights, descend to Gorakshep for breakfast, and then head downhill towards Pheriche valley. The afternoon walk can be quite windy, following a gradual gentle trail to Pheriche for a possible lunch stop. Pheriche like Dingboche a nice settlement with many good lodges and restaurants, after a refreshing break walk, continues. An easy downhill walks with a short climb to Pangboche for an overnight halt in the comfort of a nice homely lodge. Enjoy the majestic view of Mt. Ama Dablam at a close distance.

Day 11:

Trek to Namche Bazaar- 07 hrs

On completing all major highlights of the adventure, a long day's walk to Namche Bazaar. Start the morning heading down to a bridge, then uphill back into green vegetation and tree lines. As the climb leads to the top of scenic Tengboche and the monastery, after a short break marvel at the beautiful views. From Tengboche down to Imjatse River, and then short steep up to Shanasa village, and then the walk gets easier. Following the winding trail to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stop.

Day 12:

Trek to Lukla - 06 hours

Last and long day trekking of the adventure, start the day much earlier reaching Lukla on time by late afternoon. Return journey on the same earlier route on a scenic trail past Sagarmatha National Park to Phakding. Stopping for lunch at Phakding, and then head on a gradual path with last hour climb to Lukla for last overnight halt. Enjoy the last dinner with fellow members and guide.

Day 13:

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu with the afternoon free at leisure.

An early morning breakfast to catch a flight for Kathmandu, a short walk to Tenzing & Hillary Airport in Lukla. As the plane arrives from Kathmandu, then board a small aircraft for a sweeping short flight to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu domestic airport, transfer to respective hotels, rest of the day at leisure for individual activities.

Day 14:

At Kathmandu free day at leisure.

In Kathmandu we have spared a day free to enjoy individual activities, as well for shopping souvenirs of Nepal. Interested people can join in for another exciting sightseeing tour of Patan and Bhaktapur worth a visit.

Day 15:

Depart for international departure.

Transfer to Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, as per your international flight time, our guide and staff transfer you to the airport. Then bid farewell to staff and guide, enter the airport terminal for homeward bound, after a great wonderful experience on Everest Base Camp Trekking.
